Our Camper

This is our 2007 31 foot Keystone Sprinter. It is really roomy for its size. The 2 slides give plenty of space for 2 people and 2 fur babies. The grill belongs to Don but we have use after we clean it up. Hasn't been used in a while.
Our little home also has a king size bed and we just got Dish. A home away from home that we love.

A local Ford dealer is looking for a F-250 for us. We really need a bigger truck to pull this. We hope to be able to do some traveling in just a few years.

Harvest Day 2008

I love Harvest Day. We have a lot fun.

Millicent, teacher, is a surgeon; Joy, top, looks adorable but I can't remember who she is supposed to be and Nurse Sherrie is the Indian squaw.

The kids love seeing their teachers all dressed up. And of course the games and goodies are well received.

More Harvest Day

This is my co-worker Princess. Of course she is dressed as a princess. Princess just turned 21 and she is so much fun to work with. Full of personality and a love for the kids. She is in college in the ESE program. Princess is also a very good beautician. I told her that she needs to get her license and set up her new home with a shop. It would be great extra income. This gal is good and I am having a ball working with her

Harvest Day at Hope School

I have no shame...LOL

This is me on Harvest Day
at the school where I work. This is for Halloween and I am the 'Old Woman in a Shoe'. See my shoes hanging over my shoulder. This was the first time that I have participated and it was fun even though I didn't win.

Wow Bananas

I have never seen bananas growing before. These were growing by the Showcase at Emerald Lake where we stay whenever we are not at work. I thought this was one of the neatest  things I have ever seen growing.

They have been cut down as the season is over. Don said they have never gotten ripe enough to eat, but I think they are still neat to see.

Last Little Delivery

These are a few little bears that I took to my school. It is a special needs school and I delivered these little guys to the school nurse. When the little ones get sick at school a little bear can bring them some comfort and a smile while they are awaiting for someone to pick them up and take them to a doctor.

Down the line I may make some more bears for Lovey's bear project. They are soooo cute.

Latest Group of Bears

These darling bears where sent to me by Margaret B from Love's Many Cloths. She does beautiful work. Now to find a home for these little darlings.

I will not be collecting anymore bears. Lovey in Ala. has a group of gals making many of them for the local nursing homes and everyone will get one.

No Pictures

I won't be able to post pictures because I now have Vista and my software is not compatible with it. So I can't used my camera to add pictures on my blog. Until that issue is resolved I more than likely won't be blogging.

People would rather see pictures than read a lot of words.

A Great Success

I want to thank Annette Jansenius, administrator, Amber Gullet, head nurse and last but not least Cindy Brock, Quality of Life for their warm welcome to this Loves Gal. The outpouring of love for these ladies was readily apparent. I am planning to take some cloths to them and hopefully start some kind of time together teaching crochet.

My delivery today July 15, 2008 was at the Coutyard Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Marianna FL. The ladies had a really good time and I was so blessed by seeing them. Ten bears were given away. One went to a young man who loves FSU and he received a bear with the FSU colors.

BJ was so excited that she found it hard to choose.

Loueda posing with her bear companion

Mrs Pope wanted a soft fuzzy bear and she is so happy with hers.

Ms Thelma holds her bear real tight

Ms Flora receiving her bear from Amber Gullet, head of nursing.

Ms Eva went right to the bears and chose hers. Can't you see how much she loves it.

Ms Eva will be 100 years old in August 2008. She went canoing yesterday. She is more brave than I.

First Florida Delivery Ready

I am really excited about today. I will be going to the Courtyard at the Mill Pond in Marianna FL for our first FL delivery of our Cuddle Bears. These are donated by Loves Many Cloths Cuddle Bear Memory Care Program, for which I am a coordinator along with our group owner Dana Jonsgaard and Debra "Lovey" Rogers. Dana delivered the first set of bears to Adith Miller & Roger Metz Memory Care in Winnona MN and Lovey is working on 102 for her local nursing home in Eberta AL. We are hoping that this program takes off. Oh by the way we are looking for bear makers, so if you knit or crochet please consider joining us at Loves Many Cloths.
Be sure to check out all the gifts from the heart that we make at our website

A New Pattern

I tried a new pattern for my bears. This is knit a lot like the granny's favorite dishcloth. With worsted weight I think it might be easier. I used Moda Dea Tweedle Dee. I ran out of yarn just before finishing and decided that I didn't need to buy another skein at $7.95 since I got this on sale. So he looks like he has a broken arm. I may make more of these since it is quite easy.

Our Lake House

We traded in our camper for one a bit bigger. We could actually live in this one. It is a 31ft. Sprinter by Keystone and has a bunch of storage for a camper. We have it parked at our favorite spot, Emerald Lake in Colquitt GA.

Jerry is working for the owner and we can keep it there with no problem. The spot is really nice with lots of grass and wonderful neighbors. Jerry will soon be doing the cooking on the weekends and he is really looking forward to it. We love our lake house.....a home away from home. And the girls love it too. I can't believe that they behave when not on their leash. They stay right in the area and Lucy plays with the neighbor's Pomeranian and another neighbor's Cocker Spaniel. Molly has yet to be that brave.

Camping Hard

My little fur babies really love to go camping. They camp so hard that they just have to take a much needed break. Here are Lucy and Molly just chillin' out.

Finished More Bears

I have kinda been getting burned out on making the large bears. I really like the finished product though in the knit. After the one I now have on my needles I think I will do some in crochet. I love the project idea and the large bears are wonderful for the nursing homes. More hands are needed in this project. Now when it comes to the bears for kids.......well even the knit ones go faster. So this is what I have finished. I have 10 coming my way so I should very soon be able to deliver then to our local nursing home. And you know.........I do believe that in the long run the adults will appreciate these bears more than the children. The bears for the adults will bring back cherished memories and the children will soon tire of them. So the dilemma goes on.

Being filled

It has been a bit since I have posted. Can't say that I have been real busy. I know I could have used my time more wisely. I came in contact with a long lost friend about 2 weeks ago and I know it was God's doing. I had gotten out of reading His word and now I feel such a yearning for it. Oh how I have missed it. I started reading in James and am going through to Revelation and then where ever I am led to read. The version I am using is the Message. I know! I know! You wouldn't call it a good study bible. But I am not being led at the moment to do that. I am to just read right now. And this is a good translation for doing just that. I am using the Remix. God doesn't like it when "other" things start to take precedent......He is a very jealous God......

Doesn't this one look pitiful?

Harry Bear is 20 inches long and done in Red Heart worsted weight, color: sandy print. Gosh doesn't he look pitiful? Someone is bound to love him.

I like Barry just fine but my next one will be a little smaller. I started it with Moda Dea Tweedle Dee color" thunder and size 9 needles.I think this will make a nice bear.

A Little Bear Family

These Cuddle Bears will be going to bless those with Alzheimer's or dementia.......I am hoping to start the Cuddle Bear Program in the United States. If anyone is interested in joining this endeavor please email me privately. I do believe that the bears used will be the larger ones. Loves Many Cloths is in the testing stage at the moment. For this project we will need committed bear makers.

Happy Blue, my newest bear

I just completed my newest bear. She was done in Sirdar Snowflake chunky magic..........OH she feels so nice............I think I will make a big one using this yarn. Ooops almost forgot. I used size 9 crystal palace bamboo needles. I sure do like them.

I just got pampered. Oh yeah! And it felt so good. I smell good and I look good. I love being pampered.

My Latest Cuddle Bear

My newest cuddle bear is now finished. She is a large one. I know she will give someone joy. She is so nice to hold. uh huh! She really is. Now to start another bear.

Don't you just love her

I just love these little friends.........This is my 5th bear and it is a knit one.

The knit one does take me a little longer but I really like them. Sometimes they are a booger to put together though.

I am now working on Jean's Teddy Bear which I received from the Alzheimer's society in Huron Canada. I don't have a picture of this one but from what I have done so far of the head she will be a big one........Anxious to see it finished.

I think these guys and gals are soooo cute.......Don't you?

Our first Camping Trip

Ok gas prices are soaring and it is cutting into how we live and where we go........Our plan has always been to buy a camper. Well we wanted to do that while I was still working. So we did. We are very blessed to have places to go that are not far by a long shot. We stayed our first weekend at Arrowhead Campgrounds where we bought our camper..........Hey, we stayed free. Our biggest gripe was someone was to show us how to hook up to our truck and other things. No one did, so our camper is still sitting at Arrowhead.............The nice thing is that it is only about 15 minutes from home. I told y'all that we have places close by..........Our state park just about as far.

We are planning to camp on the other side of Donalsonville, GA and that is maybe an hour away.........I am so glad we did this and it is great to take our fur babies with us. They were really good.

Do you see Molly sitting at the table?

Jerry has always been my cook. Am I spoiled or what??

A 21 footer. Just the right size. I just love it. This is an Ameri Lite made by Gulf Stream. We have already made plans to go to Emerald Lake in GA with the couple who was camped beside us. That had just bought their Ameri Lite 24 ft the same week we did.

Ain't She Just Precious

I just fussed and fussed while I was making her. The 'G' hook and tight quarters was making my fingers hurt.
But when I finally finished her I fell in love....It will be hard to let this first 'little' bear go. But go she must. I am not going to send her alone so......
I will be making some more. There is just something about the first little bear that you make. OK so you noticed. I didn't make the muzzle a contrasting color..........But OH MY I love her anyway.
