Buford and Pansy

I absolutely love Pansy.  I don't like working with the yarn though (boucle')  I think Pansy's face is what is so captivating.  Buford's head just doesn't seem to be stuffed enough..I stuffed Buford from the bottom up.  It was actually easier. Pansy was stuffed from the top down and her head is filled more.  I would tell you how many I have made but I lost count.  I am not very good at keeping track of what I make.  I just knit or crochet..

Sassy Bear

Sassy makes 15  bears I have made for our Local Nursing home...

This one was fast....Front and back each knit in one piece then sewed up.......Sassy was made with size 10 1/2 needles and Lion Brand wool-ease thick and quick that was donated for my bear project........I have enough to do another one just like it....It takes almost a full skein.......about 114 grams

Buddy Bear and Lester

Now aren't these guys cute?   Buddy (yellow) gave me a bit of a fit.  Don't really know why other than I am not used to making these bears in the round......Said I wouldn't make another one but I think I will.  These guys will be going to our Local Nursing Home

The Bears Were a Big Hit

Today was my first delivery of many at the Wiregrass Rehabilitation Center and Nursing Home

I was warmly met by their activities director Ms Brenda Whittle....She is a wonderful women with a great big heart.
Here are two recipients of a shawl and a wheelchair tote.....They were thrilled...The lovely lady who got the lapghan fell asleep and we didn't want to wake her for a photo.

And cuddly bears with their new owners.....You can see all the beautiful smiles...I am sure these ladies will enjoy their cuddly bears..

And last but not least is our resident crochet lady Ms Dot,  we will soon be starting a crochet and maybe a knit circle........
Ms Dot is anxious to get her supplies ready and start 'hookin' again....A lot of fun in the future.

If you would like to help with this ministry bears are always welcome plus lap robes mostly for the men.

I have received and some is in the mail donations of homespun and cotton ease yarn for my bears.  I think I will be making mostly little bears for the nursing home here in Geneva Alabama.....The hardest part of this one for me was the muzzle......I think the eyes are perfect.  So far this in the only bear that I have used these eyes with....You can find the pattern here if you would like to help.

Strawberries n Kiwi Finally Finished

Here is the Strawberries n Kiwi Socks finished.  This is one of those pairs that I found hard to stay with and am so glad they are done.

OK   This pair  as it looks right now won't be a favorite pair.....I am not happy with the way this yarn stripes so I found a pattern that will break it up some..........This is my progress so far

Working on my TinyToes Socks

Banana Cowl

Debi from Solomon's Porch shared this pattern and had some questions about the short rows.......I had to give it a try but I too had some issues with the short rows........I managed to figure it out but don't ask me how.  If I would make this again I know I would have to figure it out again.   Being that this was made with acrylic I wasn't able to block it, so the point tends to curl........This cowl went to Solomon's Porch in Washington State.

A Favorite Pair

This has got to be one of my favorite pairs of socks.  Made with Paton's Kroy Mulberry Stripes.  I did them in a simple 2x2 pattern.  I wear them all the time.  These were made from the cuff down.

Crib Blanket

This crib blanket was sent to Solomon's Porch in Washington State........I think it turned out really pretty.
