Another Pair

Finished another pair. It is going to take some practice to get this right. The first one felt a little big so on the second one I did the foot before the toe 1/4 in shorter and the finished product on the 2nd sock is a better fit. The bigger one, of course, feels funny but I will definitely wear them.

This is what I used: Filatura Lanarota Country Sock 45 % Cotton, 40% Superwash Wool, 15% Nylon. No color title. This yarn was made in Italy and is approx. 400 yds a skein. I used size 2 2 circulars. That is a very easy way to make socks.

I want to thank Melissa for the yarn.

Two views shown. I do like the way the yarn patterns. Can't wait to do another pair. This could easily get addicting.

My first skein of Handpainted Merino

This is my first skein of Merino wool. I just love the brightness of the colors. And of course I like the green. So bright.
Now to figure out what I am going to do with it. Socks of course but will it be pattern or not. That is the question I am pondering.
Any ideas are welcomed

One Sock Down

This is the first sock made with yarn I received for a b-day present. I took this picture twice and it is still blurry. So sorry but you can get the idea of the striping. Thank you Melissa. I love it.

Cuddles for Jacksonville FL

Hi all....It has been awhile since I have posted, so I thought it was about time to let you know what I am doing.

As you may know the Humane Society in Jacksonville FL had a very tragic fire. Our Loves group is now in the process of making Cuddles for the surviving animals to have in the bottom of their cages.

Mine will be mailed out Monday April 23, 2007. This is a group effort and we are hoping to be able to provide these animals with many Cuddles.

My Projects Lately

Loves is having a drive for cloths in the month of April. I thought I would get an early start. Most are crochet and the 2 in the forfront are made on the rake. That is a straight loom. I am finally getting the hang of it.

This is the start of Jerry's sweater in a pattern from Pure & Simple Patterns. I love it. No Seams!!

I am waiting for my 16 inch size 9 circular needle so I can finish it. He won't be wearing it for a while but it will be finished for next winter. This is my first sweater and it is done in Bernat Chunky.

Hidden in the Leg

Ok ya'll I know this is blurry but this is the way I got the pic. As some of you know we are tornado survivors. It happened 7 years ago this month. As a matter of fact the 15th of March was the anniversary date.
Yesteday this piece of glass was taken out of Jerry's leg. It is almost 1/2 inch in length.
He is so relieved to have it out.

Change of Pace

Hubby has been working very hard. He and his friend George tore this down from George's place and put it up here in the yard.
Jerry's plans are to close it in and concrete half the floor. This is just what the "doctor" ordered.
Now he will have some much needed space
